SKOPJE (North Macedonia) - The FIBA U16 European Championship 2023 is ready to get underway after the final 12-player rosters were confirmed on the eve of the tournament.

16 teams are competing in the event that takes place in Skopje, North Macedonia from August 5-13.

Group A: Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey
Group B: Belgium, France, Lithuania, North Macedonia
Group C: Finland, Germany, Israel, Spain
Group D: Greece, Latvia, Poland, Serbia
Lithuania were the champions in the 2022 edition of the tournament - also hosted in Skopje, North Macedonia - when they defeated five-time title winners Spain in the Final.
The participating teams have been divided into four groups of four teams for the Group Phase, which will be played across three consecutive gamedays before the first rest day of the tournament.
The Round of 16 and Quarter-Finals will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, and followed by another rest day. The action resumes on Saturday for the Semi-Finals, with the competition reaching its conclusion with the Final played on Sunday, August 13.
Meanwhile, the battle for promotion is already underway with the FIBA U16 European Championship 2023, Division B having started on Friday in Pitesti, Romania.
