Locked in Petrovic leads Top Performers

KURSK (EuroLeague Women) - It was a case of lock, load and knock them down for the sharp-shooting Sonja Petrovic this week, with the ZVVZ USK Prague forward leading the Week 5 Top Performers.

The Serbian Olympian went five-of-six from beyond arc for 28 points to take her team within a whisker of claiming a major scalp on the road. Adding 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Petrovic finished with an efficiency of 34. 

Despite not enjoying quite the same high percentages from downtown as Petrovic, Diana Taurasi still managed 34 points for an efficiency of 32, firmly stamping her return to EuroLeague Women as UMMC Ekaterinburg ran by ESBVA-LM 88-69 on the road.

Typically slipping under the radar, Sandra Ygueravide was stealing the spotlight for Wisla Can-Pack this week. The Spanish guard had a season-best 21 points for an efficiency of 28 as her side pushed perennial Final Four attendees Fenerbahce for 40 minutes.

However, thanks in large part to the efforts of Jantel Lavender's 16 points and 9 rebounds, also for an efficiency of 28, disaster was diverted for the Turkish powerhouse.

Taking centre spot on an historic night for her club was Courtney Paris. With a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double for Hatay BB, Paris was able to take her team to an historic first-ever EuroLeague Women victory, and additionally round out the Top Performers of the week.
