    Griner grinds out Top Performer honors

    MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) – It only took Brittney Griner 13 minutes, 25 seconds to become the Gameday 10 Top Performer.

    MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) – It only took Brittney Griner 13 minutes, 25 seconds to become the Gameday 10 Top Performer.

    The UMMC Ekaterinburg center tallied 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in her cameo appearance as the defending champions routed the visiting Hatay BB 103-40. All in all, her performance added up to an efficiency of 32.

    Making the plays in this week’s team is the evergreen Serbian Miljana Bojovic, who was instrumental in taking French side Tango Bourges Basket to their sixth win of the season. Staying on the court for 30 minutes, Bojovic clocked out with 13 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds.

    There were promising signs for Czech Republic ahead of their hosting of FIBA EuroBasket Women this summer, with Tereza Vyoralova in fine fettle, registering 10 points and 7 assists for ZVVZ USK Prague in their 96-47 victory over Mersin.

    Another country who will be happy with the current form of one of their key players is Belarus, their star forward Anastasia Verameyenka collecting 11 boards and 6 points in Fenerbahce’s 66-53 win over Uni Gyor.

    Rounding out the team on the wing this week is Krisi Givens. Playing for Perfumerias Avenida, Givens contributed 16 points as the Spanish club saw off ESBVA-LM 79-70.
