Beretta Famila Schio play-caller Miguel Mendez came up with a great term of 'mind energy' after his team had to work seriously hard to see off Mersin 71-64 and move to 3-1. With a long season ahead, it's not exactly a bad attribute for any team to have.

"I’m happy beacause the last month has been very hard," he explained.

"I think the key to our win was our energy and by that, I mean our mind energy - something which led us to performing in the game under the basket, but only shooting averagely."

One of the biggest victories of the week came in Istanbul as Dynamo Kursk beat Fenerbahce on the road 72-69 in a real thriller. It was a great night for Angel McCoughtry as she amassed 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists against her ex employers. She also got to meet Turkey national football team player, Yasin Oztekin - who also plays for Galatasaray.

Perfumerias Avenida look invincible on their home court and their latest victims at Pabellon Wurzburg were CCC Polkowice as they racked up an 81-60 win. There was an emotional return for veteran star Erika Souza, with the Brazilian legend suiting up for the Spanish side once again in her long and distinguished career.

"I am very happy to be back at home again," enthused the center.

"I didn't play my best basketball, but my team-mates and coach are helping me a lot.

"After four years, people didn't forget me and that makes me happy.

"We have to go step by step now in EuroLeague Women," added Souza.

"We are doing a very good job, but we have to keep on working."

Nadezhda Orenburg are unbeaten after four games and that pleased Cristina Ouvina who helped her team to a 65-57 success at home to Uniqa Sopron.

Meanwhile, Tango Bourges have slipped to consecutive road losses after being beaten 81-66 at reigning champions UMMC Ekaterinburg. However, play-caller Valerie Garnier was full of praise for her team's efforts and especially for her playmaker.

She stated, "It is always difficult to win, especially when you lose 17 rebounds and get punished for every one of them. We tried to stay with them, but in the end, Ekaterinburg put the game under their control.

"However, we did a great job, collecting the rebounds and right now, we are building a new team and I thought Miljana Bojovic in particular did great."

Finally, the winter celebrations and start of December have got the players excited and not least Nnemkadi Ogwumike.

Playing in Russia with Dynamo Kursk, it's likely she will have that snowy and winter feeling for quite a few months yet!
