Good Angels Kosice rise up to write the Round of 16 headline

KOSICE (EuroCup Women) - Good Angels Kosice thrust one foot into the next phase of EuroCup Women after producing the result of this week's Round of 16 action with a sparkling first leg win against the previously perfect Flammes Carolo Basket.

Rebecca Allen was the star for Kosice with a wonderful 27-point haul as the home side bounced back from their Slovak Cup Final defeat last weekend with a super 83-64 triumph which gives them a great chance to progress.

There was also a road win for another Turkish outfit yet to taste defeat in Yakin Dogu Universitesi who prevailed 76-62 at Rutronik Stars Keltern. Courtney Vandersloot continued her rich vein of form with 18 points and eight assists.

It's advantage VBW CEKK Cegled when they head to the Latvian capital Riga as they will re-engage their duel with TTT Riga holding a seven-point advantage after winning the first meeting 77-63. Nora Nagy-Bujdoso and Szidonia Katona shared 36 points for the hosts.
