MUNICH (Germany) - There was plenty of excitement on Monday, the first day of action at the FIBA U20 Women's European Challengers, as Serbia, Czech Republic and one of the five hosts, Hungary, all got off to a winning start.
There were three games played in the Sopron Challenger as the curtain was raised on the tournament - one which will also see Challengers taking place this week in Yerevan (Armenia), Sofia (Bulgaria), Konya (Turkey) and Skopje (North Macedonia).

Sopron Challenger:
Day 1 results: Czech Republic got off the mark at the first attempt by beating Israel 67-65 but had to work their way back from a double-digit deficit. Serbia used their superiority on the glass to help fuel a narrow 61-57 triumph against Spain, while Hungary were far too good for Ireland as they raced out of sight early to complete a one-sided 91-28 victory.
