Day 4 recap: Serbia confirmed as Klatovy winners, Slovenia overcome Bulgaria for Sofia title

MUNICH (Germany) - The FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers resumed for their penultimate day on Saturday with Serbia and Slovenia becoming the first teams to clinch titles with four other teams in contention to complete a perfect week tomorrow.

Gameday 4 results: Latvia recorded their third successive win as they inflicted a first loss on Portugal with a big second quarter in their 56-48 triumph. The two sides now sit at 3-1 behind leaders Croatia, who stayed unbeaten by brushing aside Romania in an 88-49 victory with Nika Rodek dishing 10 assists. Meanwhile, Germany held off a late fightback from Russia to earn a 64-60 success for their first win of the week.

Gameday 4 results: Serbia continued their strong form with a comprehensive 90-47 win over Ireland behind a 22-point display from Nevena Rosic. Top spot was confirmed as Czech Republic stunned Turkey in a dramatic 60-59 victory with Anna Chroma netting back-to-back baskets down the stretch. Lithuania now sit in second spot after they edged out Hungary, 75-71, with Juste Jocyte nearing a triple-double with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists as well as 6 steals.

Gameday 4 results: France and Spain continued their collision course for the Challenger title in Heraklion. Both moved to 4-0 with France easing to an impressive 83-36 win over Poland as Maia Hirsch posted 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Spain enjoyed a 69-38 victory against Greece. There was also a first win for Israel as they survived a fourth quarter fightback with a strong finish to beat Slovakia, 76-64.

Gameday 4 results: Slovenia secured the title in Sofia as they prevailed in the decider against Bulgaria with Zala Srot dominating the glass with 20 rebounds and 16 points in the crucial 59-51 triumph. Earlier, Switzerland outlasted Ukraine in a 58-55 overtime thriller with 15 points apiece for Enza Germanier and Stephanie Martinez, while North Macedonia snapped their losing run by beating Albania, 61-49.

Andorra la Vella Challenger:

Gameday 4 results: Cyprus powered into the Final as they repeated their opening day victory over Andorra by hitting the century mark once more in winning 100-26. Panagiota Kyriakou led the way with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals with her side next facing Malta on Sunday after they defeated Moldova 69-46 behind a game-high 24 points from Marie Buhagiar.
