Week 5 Top Performers: Gajda, Sabally, Guirantes, Aho, Stankovic

MUNICH (Germany) - There were plenty of new faces in the Top Performers list for Gameday 5 and that made it an intriguing race to claim the Player of the Week prize.

It was Nina Aho of DVTK HUN-Therm who emerged with the honors after receiving 65 percent of the fan votes, edging GHM BC Polkowice standout Weronika Gajda in second place.

Weronika Gajda of KGHM BC Polkowice stepped away from Week 5 with the highest performance efficiency valuation after recording 29 in the pulsating 92-82 overtime win against Serco UNI Gyor. The guard handed out 13 assists which was more than any other player has managed in a game so far this season, while also harvesting 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

She is joined in the lineup by her teammate Dragana Stankovic who proved to be a real handful in the paint and the Serbian national team baller posted and efficient display which underpinned the headline work of Gajda. The forward impressed with 12 points and 12 rebounds, also producing defensively with  2 steals and 2 blocks.

Nyara Sabally makes her rookie appearance in the list after registering her best effort so far in a ZVVZ USK Praha vest. She was the prominent figure as her team moved past Villeneuve d'Ascq LM 74-63 - turning heads with a smart 21 points and 8 rebounds.

Arella Guirantes continues to have a positive influence on Berettta Famila Schio in the wake of her move to the Italian side. She came up with another strong performance to lead in an 84-58 home victory against LDLC ASVEL Feminin as the joint top-scorer in the contest with 20 points and also recorded 7 boards and 4 assists.

Her former club DVTK HUN-Therm are still unbeaten this season and the departure of Guirantes has given Nina Aho a chance to shine. The guard has taken that opportunity and her perfect shooting night resulted in 16 points, as well as 5 assists and 3 steals in an 80-68 win at ACS Sepsi-SIC.
