Week 1 Top Performers: Mavunga, Thomas, Crvendakic, Oblak, Sykes

MUNICH (Germany) - The curtain was raised on a new EuroLeague Women season and an array of star ballers took the opportunity to light it up on the first week of action with some outstanding displays. 

It proved to be a night that BC Polkowice will never forget as they completed a ruthless 73-46 dismantling of Istanbul juggernauts Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding. Stephanie Mavunga had a stunning night with a colossal performance efficiency valuation of 37 after racking up a breathtaking 23 points, 21 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Alyssa Thomas also showed out as she claimed a rare triple-double after starring for ZVVZ USK Praha in their hard-fought 82-71 win against Atomeromu KSC Szekszard. The American put up 15 points, 15 rebounds and handed out 10 assists to complete the feat, also snapping up 5 steals.

She is joined in the lineup by Praha teammate Teja Oblak after the guard showed her skills and experience in a classy showing that returned 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. 

Aleksandra Crvendakic had a memorable debut in the competition donning a Perfumerias Avenida vest as she propelled her new team to an 83-66 success against CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld. The Serbian standout finished with 23 points after shooting 65 percent from the floor and also pulled down 11 rebounds. 

Finally, Brittney Sykes had a stellar first game in the competition with reigning champs Sopron Basket and was electric all night in a 91-62 victory against Kangoeroes Mechelen. She shot 10 of 13 from the field as she netted 24 points and also dished up 7 assists.
