Will the fairytale run of MVP Copper continue in Istanbul?
ISTANBUL (Turkey) - This past year has been quite a ride for Kahleah Copper, with her debut EuroLeague Women season already marked with her being named MVP.
But the best could yet be to come, with the Perfumerias Avenida well in the hunt for what would be the club's second European title.
A year ago, Copper probably could have never truly dreamed of what was about to unfold when a fine WNBA season culminated in her propelling the Chicago Sky to the title.
"I AM NOT TRYING TO THINK ABOUT THE HARDWARE. I AM JUST GOING TO LET IT COME IF IT COMES."
So much so, she was named the WNBA Finals MVP.
While her EuroLeague Women start was somewhat delayed, it has certainly proven to be worth the wait. In fact, that might just be the biggest understatement ever.
Copper stepped off the plane, dropped buckets galore and has not stopped doing so. Hit the fast forward button to the present day and she has been crowned the EuroLeague Women MVP and is about to play at the Final Four for the first time.

Not bad for a first season in the competition.
"I am having a pretty good year, I guess," smiled the 27-year-old.
"It feels good and I am just super grateful. It's my first year playing EuroLeague Women and having such a great season and having the teammates that I have. I am having that hard work rewarded and just trying to take every moment in.
"It was a great fit with (Avenida) from the start. I came super late, but everybody just embraced me and was trying to help me learn everything, all the plays and it was just about getting to know everyone's style on the court. Once I got comfortable, it became easier."
"For us to be able to take it back to (the fans) would be amazing." - Copper
There can't be many people who would go against her possibly taking Perfumerias Avenida to their first title since 2011 and Copper adding the Final Four MVP accolade to her trophy cabinet.
Will the fairytale continue for Copper and is she aware of what she could be on the cusp of achieving in Istanbul?
It would be quite the party in Plaza Mayor back in Spain if Avenida could parade the silverware there.
"I am excited," declared Copper.
"I am not trying to think too much about the hardware. I am just going to let it come if it comes.
"I do want to win though. Our fans, show up and they show out. They are super supportive to everybody. For us to be able to take it back to them would be amazing," she insisted.
Perfumerias Avenida play Sopron Basket in the first of two Semi-Finals on Friday at 16:00 CET.
