Perfumerias Avenida power past Spar Girona in first Quarter-Finals matchup

SALAMANCA (Spain) - Perfumerias Avenida produced a statement performance and victory in the opening game of their EuroLeague Women Quarter-Finals series against domestic rivals Spar Girona on Wednesday night.

Roberto Iniguez's team got off to a red hot start in the contest and maintained their dominance throughout as they cruised to a 77-63 success to move within one win of another Final Four appearance.

Last season's finalists were highly impressive, exerting control with 29 points during the second quarter and were also helped by some good early work from Karlie Samuelson, who eventually corralled 11 points.

Avenida welcomed marquee star Kahleah Copper back into the mix after her return from the States, but it was captain Silvia Dominguez who excelled. The guard claimed 12 points, 8 rebounds. 4 steals and 3 assists. Maite Cazorla and Leonor Rodriguez also shared 26 points.

Girona never really got going and had little to cheer outside of an efficient 12 points and 7 boards from Giedre Labuckiene, prior to her fouling out of the game.
