EKATERINBURG (Russia) - It's going to be a fascinating duel when UMMC Ekaterinburg host ZVVZ USK Praha with the Russian juggernauts still stinging from the agony of their SuperCup Women Final loss.

UMMC were big favorites to land their fifth SuperCup Women crown but fell short against Valencia BC and it underlined how the current EuroLeague Women champions can be beaten. 

Expected to land a Final Four place this season by most observers, it will be interesting to see if ZVVZ USK Praha have what it takes to heap more pressure onto UMMC and make an early statement of intent. Or, will they instead face a serious and unstoppable backlash from the Russian giants?

Form guide: UMMC are unbeaten both domestically and in the EuroLeague Women, where they stand at 3-0 after wins against BLMA, TTT Riga and Umana Reyer Venezia. However, they crashed in the SuperCup Women Final last week against Valencia, going down 73-66 on Spanish soil.

USK remain dominant in the Czech League and in the EuroLeague Women they are currently at 2-1 after beating MBA Moscow and KSC Szekszard, having opened up the campaign with a one-point loss to BLMA on the road.

Last meeting: It was January 2020 when the two teams last met and UMMC racked up an 88-65 home win. Perhaps the most famous meeting down the years was the 2015 Final, when USK beat UMMC to land their first ever title. 

Jonquel Jones will get to go up against her WNBA teammate and namesake Brionna

Key matchup: It could be one of the most enjoyable matchups of the entire season as namesakes Jonquel Jones of UMMC and Brionna Jones of USK go up against each other. They are both Connecticut Sun teammates so know their respective games well from all those practice sessions. Plus, they are both on fire, with Jonquel landing the WNBA Regular Season MVP honors and Brionna being crowned the WNBA's Most Improved Player. Sit back and enjoy! 

X-factor: Taking care of the ball surely has to be a big talking point after UMMC blew their chances of winning that SuperCup Women title last Friday mainly because of a catastrophic 27 turnovers, of which 8 were unforced. Similarly, USK have the second worst turnovers record after three EuroLeague Women games with almost 20 per game - only MBA Moscow have spilled it more.
