First returns confirmed in EuroLeague Women Awards voting

MUNICH (Germany) - The EuroLeague Women Awards first returns show Fenerbahce Safiport stars Alina Iagupova, Satou Sabally, Kayla McBride and Elizabeth Williams leading fan voting for the Team of the Season.

The quartet are the top overall vote-getters with less than a week to go in the polls. Also at the front of the MVP race, Iagupova, has taken 23 percent of the backcourt votes, with McBride just behind on 19 percent. Meanwhile, Sabally is leading in the frontcourt voting with 20 percent of all votes in the category, followed by Williams on 16 percent.

The leading players and coaches in the competition will be recognized for their performances across the Regular Season and Quarter-Finals, with the winners of the awards decided by combining the fan voting with the ballots of the EuroLeague Women coaches and team captains, as well as selected media.

The fan voting will continue until Sunday, March 27. 

In all of the categories, the current state of play after confirmation of the first returns shows that every single vote will be vital before the poll is closed, with an array of players looking to close the gap to the current leaders.
