MUNICH (Germany) - The field for the EuroLeague Women Final Four has been set, with Fenerbahce Oznur Kablo, Perfumerias Avenida, Sopron Basket and UMMC Ekaterinburg emerging victorious from the Quarter-Final hubs in Salamanca, Spain and Sopron, Hungary.
Defending champions UMMC Ekaterinburg extended their impressive streak to 14 consecutive Final Four appearances after topping domestic rivals Dynamo Kursk by a 48-point margin across the two legs of the all-Russian tie.
Sopron Basket clinched their ticket to the Final Phase of the competition for the third time in a row, with their 28-point advantage from Game 1 proving enough to hold off an inspired LDLC ASVEL Feminin comeback. The Hungarian club featured in the Final Four in 2018 and 2019; the 2020 edition did not take place due to the curtailed 2019-20 season.
Having held on against Istanbul adversaries Galatasaray 152-145 on aggregate despite a 71-61 defeat in Game 2, Fenerbahce Oznur Kablo are back among the top four clubs in EuroLeague Women for the first time since 2017.
Meanwhile, Perfumerias Avenida last appeared in the Final Four exactly a decade ago in the 2010-11 campaign, when they went on to lift the trophy in Ekaterinburg. The club from Salamanca secured two close-fought victories against Spar Girona to confirm their return.
In the Semi-Finals, UMMC Ekaterinburg will play Fenerbahce Oznur Kablo, while Perfumerias Avenida will take on Sopron Basket.
The location of the Final Four, set to take place from April 16-18, will be announced at a later stage.
