Vadeeva earns Top Performer honors on first gameday of Quarter-Finals

MUNICH (Germany) - Maria Vadeeva delivered the performance of the night on Tuesday, as defending champions UMMC Ekaterinburg tipped off the EuroLeague Women Quarter-Finals in style with a 78-45 triumph over TTT Riga.

The 20-year-old Russia international was too much to handle in the post, registering a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double and adding 3 blocks and 2 assists to her name for an efficiency rating of 31 - the highest of all four Quarter-Final openers.

Natasha Howard of Dynamo Kursk came the closest to the mark with an efficiency of 28, joining Vadeeva in the Top Performer lineup. The 27-year-old power forward finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists, as Kursk cruised to an equally impressive win, 89-53 over CCC Polkowice.

While the fans in Russia could lean back early on, the crowd in Sopron were treated to an absolute nail-biter, as the home side pipped Bourges Basket 66-65, with three players involved in the clash completing the team of the gameday.

Candice Dupree was not only the game hero after dropping the game-winning basket, the veteran forward also spearheaded all Sopron players in efficiency with a ranking of 20 after accumulating an all-round 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

In the backcourt, Sopron's Yvonne Turner and Bourges' Marine Johannes had a go at each other, filling the boxscore and the highlight reel. Turner paced the winners with a team-high 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, while Johannes led all scorers with 24 points and equally added 4 rebounds and 3 assists to her stat line.
