Celebrations as Fenerbahce crowned Turkish champions
ISTANBUL (EuroLeague Women) - Having missed out on the EuroLeague Women Final Four, Fenerbahce have made up for that disappointment by landing the Turkish championship.
Having only been at the helm for a couple of months, head coach Valerie Garnier has taken the Istanbul giants back to domestic superiority, with Fenerbahce having previously relinquished their title in 2017.
They exacted revenge on derby rivals Yakin Dogu Universitesi with a 3-1 series success in this year's Final series, completing the job with a 62-53 triumph.
Giorgia Sottana top-scored with 14 points, while Anastasiya Verameyenka had a busy evening with 11 points, 9 boards, 4 assists and 4 blocks.
