MUNICH (Germany) - It proved to be the most bitter sweet of nights for Leonie Fiebich as she lit it up to take Casademont Zaragoza to a big win in the Second Leg of the Quarter-Finals, but it wasn't enough to advance.
The versatile Fiebich hit top gear like so many times before in an excellent season, with her 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals pacing a 65-56 triumph against Villeneuve d'Ascq LM.
However, Zaragoza lost out by 7 points on aggregate in the tie and Villeneuve had their guard Kamiah Smalls to largely thank for surviving. She was in the Top Performers lineup for the First Leg and keeps her place after recording 20 points, 6 boards and 4 steals.
Jessica Shepard was the main hero for Umana Reyer Venezia as they also made the Semi-Finals, thanks to the role of their center in a 59-48 shutdown of Elitzur Landco Ramla. She amassed a super double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, also passing the rock 5 times for good measure.
Teaira McCowan has been a near ever present in the weekly Top Performers lists across the whole campaign. The Galatasaray powerhouse returns again after she posted 20 points, 16 boards and 2 blocks in a 75-65 win against Cadi Lae Seu to put her team into the last four.
Finally, Angers signed off their participation by going down 71-60 to LDLC ASVEL Feminin, but at least Jasmine Bailey could take some real pride from an impressive display. She came up with a 75 percent shooting effort that harvested 15 points, while also claiming 7 rebounds.
