Brown bows out with Round of 16 Top Performer crown

MUNICH (Germany) - Having missed out in agonizing fashion on a place in the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals, there is some consolation for Kalani Brown who has been named as the Top Performer for the Round of 16.

The Bellona Kayseri Basketbol standout suffered the heartache of a last-gasp 88-86 home floor loss to Elazig Il Ozel Idare, but could barely have done more to try and propel her team into the last eight.

Brown finished the dramatic contest with a spectacular 34 points - the second-highest score of any individual this season, as well as picking up 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.

She is joined in the lineup by Kristine Vitola, who was the catalyst for her Elazig pushing Brown and Bellona out of the tournament. The Latvian international had a majestic debut for her new team in the competition as she claimed 23 points from 70 percent floor shooting while completing a double-double with 13 rebounds.

Jamie Nared brought the noise for Carolo Basket as they breezed their way into the next phase with a one-sided 81-46 win against VBW CEKK Cegled. The versatile American amassed 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead her team into the last eight.

Another French team advancing are ESBVA-LM as they took down Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje despite a slow start. It was Lisa Berkani who sparked them into life and she turned up the dial to help them record a 69-62 triumph, contributing 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

The defeat was tough on Sparta&k center Peyton Williams who also makes the lineup. She signed off her first EuroCup Women season as the second most deadly finisher in the competition to date and waved goodbye with a big double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Russians.
