Four teams take big step towards the Round of 8
MUNICH (Germany) - A quartet of clubs have put themselves in a great position to make it to the next stage of EuroCup Women after posting big first-leg wins in their respective Round of 16 ties.
Carolo Basket had far too much in the paint for Besiktas TRC Insaat as they ripped apart their Turkish hosts 92-76 in Istanbul. The victory was due to a twin-turbo effort under the bucket with Evelyn Akhator recording a massive 23 points and 15 rebounds, while the experienced Endy Miyem was similarly effective with a super 24 points and 7 assists.
CCC Polkowice look well placed after they demolished MBA Moscow 83-60, with a smart 21-point showing from Maria Conde pacing the Polish side.
Season newcomers Cadi La Seu could be about to continue their rookie journey even deeper into the competition as they gave themselves a handy advantage to take to Basket Landes next week. Despite not a single player reaching double digits, a real team effort with 11 different players scoring sealed an important 64-50 win.

There were also Spanish smiles at Lointek Gernika Bizkaia as they dismantled KSZ Szekszard 91-73. An all-action performance from Julie Wojta was vitally important as she registered 13 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Blake Dietrick also starred with 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Nikolina Milic made a splash with a team-high 21 points.
The one game that proved to be much tighter was the contest in Siberia, as WBC Enisey inked a modest 60-55 victory against Valencia. Kyara Linskens did the business for the hosts with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
