Basket Landes, Carolo Basket and Valencia Basket seal Quarter-Final spots

MUNICH (Germany) - There was joy for a trio of EuroCup Women sides on Wednesday night as Basket Landes, Carolo Basket and Valencia Basket all advanced to the Quarter-Finals of the competition.

Basket Landes followed up their narrow victory in the first leg of their tie with Orman Genclik by easing their way to an eye-catching 102-64 triumph. It was founded on Ana Suarez and Lidija Turcinovic sharing 36 points, with Mamignan Toure going 7-of-9 for her team-high 20 points. 


Another French side Carolo Basket has also won a tight one on the road, completing a double over their opponents as they saw off CCC Polkowice 83-73.

It was a fine team effort from the hosts, with Kim Mestdagh netting 14 points and hauling down 8 boards, Evelyn Akhator completed a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Endy Miyem and Giorgia Sottana had great shooting nights with 17 and 15 points, respectively.  Maria Conde plundered 18 points and 13 rebounds in defeat.

Meanwhile in the all-Spanish tie, tournament rookies Valencia Basket marched on into the next phase. Having won the first leg on the road, they were once again too good for Lointek Gernika Bizkaia as they locked down their domestic rivals 72-50. Joy Brown continued her rich vein of form with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
