Akhator takes another Top Performer honor

MUNICH (Germany) - There's no stopping Evelyn Akhator who continues to light it up on all fronts after landing the Top Performer award for her efforts with Carolo Basket in the first leg of the Round of 8.

After taking the accolade only a couple of weeks ago in the Round of 16, prior to helping Nigeria take a ticket to Tokyo 2020 at the recent FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade, Akhator is still on fire.

She provided the main thrust for her team during an absorbing 84-82 road win at CCC Polkowice as she netted 23 points from a 67 percent shooting performance, while also adding 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

Now Akhator will try to also take the Fans' MVP honor via the interactive voting below, but must see off her fellow Team of the Week members.

They include Joy Brown who inspired Valencia Basket to a vital 71-61 victory at Lointek Gernika Bizkaia to help the first-timers put one foot into the last eight of the competition. She shone brightly with a strong double-double after amassing 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Miranda Ayim is another player heading to Tokyo 2020 and the Canadian forward was largely the key to a gripping 82-79 success for Basket Landes at Orman Genclik. She had 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists as she did the business in the frontcourt.

Her teammate Ana Suarez is also included in our lineup after she excelled in the backcourt, firing a smart 14 points, plus a nice 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Meanwhile from the same game, Pelin Bilgic was not able to quite get her team the win, but the Orman Genclik guard still gets the nod due to a superb season best 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
