Stats leaders: Which players have been filling the statsheet?

BERLIN (Germany) - The Knockout Phase of FIBA EuroBasket 2022 is about to tip off. but before that happens, here is a review of the stats leaders from the Group Phase.  

Giannis Antetokounmpo tops the scoring charts thus far with 29.5 points in one game fewer than the others in the Top 5 . His biggest highlight was a 41-point outburst against Ukraine. Bulgaria's Aleksandar Vezenkov has been eliminated but Slovenian star Luka Doncic and Lauri Markkanen of Finland are in hot pursuit of the Greek.

Vezenkov tops the rebounding stats at 12.2 boards a game, as one of four players in double figures. Lithuanian big man Jonas Valanciunas ranks second at 11.4 and has actually averaged 12.3 rebounds a game over the last three contests. Nikola Jokic, at 10.5 rebounds per outing, can also still catch Vezenkov.

The assists king from the Group Phase is Tomas Satoransky, who helped Czech Republic reach the Round of 16 by dishing assists in double digits in the last two games, for an average of 9.0 in three games. Dee Bost has been eliminated after averaging 8.4 assists with Bulgaria while Vasilije Micic of Serbia and Montenegro's Kendrick Perry can both catch up at 7.4 assists each.


 
All of the top ball thieves are still in the tournament with Kendrick Perry of Montenegro and France's Terry Tarpey both having come up with 11 steals in five games while Nikola Kalinic of Serbia, Sviatoslav Myhailiuk of Ukraine, Greece's Kostas Papanikolaou and Finland's Sasu Salin all have 10 steals for a 2.0 average.

 
The current blocks leader of the event has already departed as Jusuf Nurkic and Bosnia and Herzegovina were bounced with 2.0 blocks per game. Croatian Ivica Zubac has swatted 1.6 shots and Mike Tobey of Slovenia averaged 1.5 blocks.
