FIBA EuroBasket Top 100 scorers: 75-51

MUNICH (Germany) - With the 100-day mark in the countdown to FIBA EuroBasket 2022 fast approaching, there's no better time to remember the top 100 scorers in competition history.

Divided into four segments of 25 players each, the series will culminate on Tuesday, May 24 with exactly 100 days to go to the 41st edition of the flagship event, when the full list will be unveiled.

Ranks 100-76: Wednesday, May 18
Ranks 75-51: Friday, May 20
Ranks 50-26: Sunday, May 22
Ranks 25-1: Tuesday, May 24

The players ranked 100-76 were announced earlier this week and we continue our countdown as we look at the next 25 players:

75. Patrick FEMERLING  GER


CENTER

Birth date: 04/03/1975

Medals: 🥈(2005)

Femerling played in seven consecutive EuroBasket tournaments for Germany with the seven-footer part of the squad that won a silver medal in 2005. The center was a consistent performer for the national team and averaged a best of 11.8 points per game in the 2003 edition.

Aerts was part of a Belgian team that qualified for EuroBasket four consecutive times from 1959-1967. He averaged 17.8 points per game in the 1963 edition in what was a penultimate appearance at the major tournament for Aerts.

Bogdanovic was amongst the top five scorers at the 2017 edition with 22.5 points per game and previously made the All-Tournament Team in 2013 after leading Croatia to fourth place as their top scorer. The 33-year-old is set to make a fifth appearance at EuroBasket later this summer with the chance to climb further up the Top-100 scorers list. 

72. Zdenek KOS  CZE

Kos competed at EuroBasket in seven straight tournaments from 1971-1981; amassing just short of 450 points in that period. The center helped Czechoslavakia to a bronze medal on two occasions as they finished third in 1977 and 1981 with Kos averaging 10+ points per game in all but one appearance.

71. Massimo MASINI  ITA

Masini represented Italy at five consecutive EuroBasket tournaments from 1963-1971. The center averaged a team-best 17.3 points per game in the 1967 edition and would win the first medal in his final appearance four years later as Italy defeated Poland to take third spot.

Another Italian as part of the list, Villalta enjoyed even greater success at EuroBasket having been involved in the historic title-winning team of 1983. The forward/center also earned two bronze medals a decade apart with six tournament appearances in total for Italy.

Zisis won the EuroBasket title with Greece in 2005 having averaged 10+ points per game in his debut appearance in the tournament. The 38-year-old became the General Manager of the national team after retiring with six EuroBasket appearances in total, also adding a bronze medal in 2009.

Dacoury competed in five different EuroBasket tournaments for France without winning a medal, despite an illustrious career at club level. The shooting guard averaged 22.0 points per game in the 1989 tournament before another strong showing two years later as France finished in fourth spot.

Zsiros was part of the historic Hungary side that won the EuroBasket title on home soil in 1955, two years after achieving silver on his first appearance in the tournament. He led the team to gold with 15.9 points per game including two games with 30+ points as Hungary only suffered one loss in the tournament. 

66. Jaroslav SIP  CZE

Sip never quite made it onto the top step of the podium with Czechoslavakia at EuroBasket, but did collect four medals in a run of five consecutive tournaments. The guard won silver on three occasions with a best of 14.0 points per game in his first appearance in 1951 and also earning a bronze medal in 1957.

Sibilio played in four consecutive EuroBasket tournaments for Spain during the 1980s and helped his adopted nation win a silver medal in 1983, whilst finishing in fourth place in each of his other tournaments. 'Chico' averaged 17.4 points per game as Spain were runners-up in the tournament in France as they lost out to Italy.

The EuroBasket career of Skeric spanned the entire 1950s after making five consecutive appearances with Czechoslavakia. Skeric played alongside #66 ranked Jaroslav Sip as the duo helped their team win four medals - three of which were silver, including in 1955 when the center posted a best of 19.1 points per game in Hungary.

Krstic won a silver medal with Serbia at FIBA EuroBasket 2009 with averages of 13.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in the tournament as team captain. The center made four appearances in total before retiring from playing for the national team in 2014, though he has since been involved in an official capacity.

One of the all-time European greats, Radja enjoyed a glittering career that included being named in the All-Tournament Team at EuroBasket in 1989 after winning the first of two titles with Yugoslavia. He also won a silver medal in a first appearance two years earlier before representing Croatia and was the nation's leading scorer until being passed by Bojan Bogdanovic.

Cohen-Mintz made four consecutive appearances at EuroBasket for Israel during the 1960s. The center put up 17.1 points per game in 1963 as the tournament's fourth-leading scorer and also averaged 15.9 points per game two years later as Israel secured a sixth-placed finish.

Like Zisis, the first taste of EuroBasket was a successful one for Bourousis as Greece won the title in 2005. It was the first of seven consecutive appearances for the veteran center averaging double figures in scoring for the first time in 2009 in helping secure another medal as Greece claimed bronze in Poland.

Riva was one of the most prolific scorers in EuroBasket history having accumulated 450+ points in just 24 games. The Italian shooting guard averaged 18.3 points per game in their title-winning campaign in 1983 before pouring in 28.3 points per game in the 1989 edition with Riva also earning a silver medal two years later on home soil.

57. Boaz JANAY  ISR

Janay was part of the only Israeli side to win a medal at EuroBasket as they achieved silver in 1979 in Italy after finishing runners-up to the Soviet Union. The center made one final appearance two years later to take his number of EuroBasket tournaments to six.

Valters completed the set of medals at EuroBasket in four appearances for the Soviet Union during the 1980s. The Latvian guard was MVP in the 1981 title-winning effort with 16.7 points per game and made a second appearance on the All-Tournament Team four years later in helping secure a second gold medal, whilst also winning silver and bronze.

Mlynarski only competed at three EuroBasket tournaments, but still managed to score almost 500 points for Poland. The forward was the leading scorer in successive tournaments with 27.1 points per game in 1979 followed by 22.9 points per game in 1981, though Poland missed out on the medals on each occasion.

Nedef made a EuroBasket debut for Romania in 1953 that started a streak of seven consecutive appearances at the major tournament with a total of 60 games played. In 1957, Nedef was part of the side that achieved a fifth placed finish, which remains their highest placing in the tournament's history.
