    The FIBA ​​YDP Super Camp kicked off in Salt Lake City

    MIAMI (United States) - The FIBA's Youth Development Program (YDP) in the Americas returned with a SuperCamp on July 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. The camp will run until Sunday July 17.

    MIAMI (United States) - The FIBA's Youth Development Program (YDP) in the Americas returned with a SuperCamp on July 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. The camp will run until Sunday July 17.

    The Super Camp, held in collaboration with the Real Salt Lake Basketball Academy, marks the launch of the first YDP camp for girls. In total there are 30 players who are participating. There are 10 girls and 15 boys representing the Americas’ region. Five other young players from the FIBA ​​Youth and Development Program in Africa, will also join.

    All camp activities are taking place at the Real Salt Lake Basketball Academy, which is also providing dorms and meals for athletes and coaches.

    The objective of FIBA’s ​​YDP is to develop and elevate young talent in the Americas, both boys and girls, who represent or will represent their national teams in the near future.

    Some of the participants include Tomás Scola, son of the legendary Argentine player Luis Scola, and the young Puerto Ricans Alejandro Avilés, Camila De Pool and Dianne Crespo, who have just played the FIBA ​​U18 Americas Championships for men and women, respectively.

    For this Super Camp the players were selected from the previous seven YDP camps that were held during this year, from competitions in the region, and nominations from national federations.
