The host (Germany) and the winners of each Women’s Continental Cup 2025 (Australia, Belgium, Nigeria, and USA) will participate in these Qualifying Tournaments. However, they have already received automatic qualification for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026.
The top three teams from each tournament will qualify for the Women’s World Cup, along with a Continental Cup winner.
In the Qualifying Tournament that features both a Continental Cup champion and host nation Germany, only the top two teams will advance.
In 2022 FIBA's Central Board approved the expansion of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 to 16 teams.
National teams will qualify for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 - FIBA's flagship women's competition - via four global FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournaments from 11-17 March, 2026.
Accordingly, the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournaments will feature a total of 24 teams, including the winners of the newly introduced FIBA Women's World Cup Pre-Qualifying Tournaments 2024, determined by their results in the four FIBA Women's Continental Cups in 2025.

6 highest placed teams FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025: Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and the Philippines
6 highest placed teams FIBA AmeriCup 2025: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and USA
8 teams that include the host (Germany) + 2 winners of the Pre-Qualifying Tournaments (Czechia and Hungary) + 5 best placed teams (Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, and Türkiye)
