    COMPETITION SYSTEM

    The Women's Basketball League Africa is the flagship competition for senior women's club basketball.

    This year, the city of Cairo in Egypt will host the African Women's Basketball League from 5 to 14 December.

    The tournament will feature twelve (12) teams, namely two automatically qualified teams (the defending champion and the host) and ten teams from the zone qualifiers.

    The twelve (12) clubs will be divided into three groups of four (4) teams each.

    In each group, matches will be played in a single round-robin format (each team plays the others once) with a ranking system.

    The teams ranked 1st and 2nd in each group and the two best 3rd-placed teams based on goal difference will qualify for the second round (quarter-finals and semi-finals).

    The four (4) eliminated teams will play classification games once (9th – 12th Place).

    The four (4) winner teams of ¼ finals will qualify to the ½ finals.

    The four (4) loser teams will play classification games (5th – 8th place).

    The two (2) winners teams of semifinals will play the final. The two (2) loser teams will play classification games (3rd – 4th place).

    TEAMS RANKING

    • The first-place teams from each group, according to wins and point differential will be ranked from 1st to 3rd place.

    • The second place teams from each group will be ranked from 4th to 6th place according to wins and point differential.

    • The two best third place teams from all the groups will then be ranked 7th to 8th following the point differential order.
