The draw will take place on 23 April 2025 at 19:00 (GMT) at the Hôtel des Armées in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire). It will determine which of the participating teams will lift the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2025 trophy.
Draw Principles
The participating teams will be divided into three pots created to reflect the strength of the continent, also based on the ranking from the last edition and the results recorded during the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2025 qualifying campaign.
The composition of the pots is as follows: POT 1: Host Côte d'Ivoire, defending champion Nigeria, runner-up Senegal and bronze medallist Mali. POT 2: Egypt, Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda (all countries in African zone 5) POT 3: Angola, Cameroon, Guinea and Mozambique (other qualified countries)
The teams are divided into four groups of three teams each.
The teams in each pot will be distributed among the four groups and assigned a competition number, with the exception of pot 1, which represents the group leaders and will occupy first place in each of the four groups.
There can only be one team from zone 5 and one from zone 6 in the same group.
