The FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026 scheduled to be held from Aug 13-23, 2026 is FIBA’s flagship event for youth National Teams in Asia.
Sixteen teams will battle it out for top honours in the competition that serves as the launchpad for many future international superstars. The top four teams from the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026 will represent the region at the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup to be played in Pardubice, Czechia from 26 June to 4 July 2027.
The hosts automatically qualify and will be joined by 13 teams from Asia and two from Oceania.
Asia teams come through qualifying competitions conducted by the six FIBA Asia Sub-Zones and Oceania teams through their qualification competition.
The representation of FIBA Asia Sub-Zones is arrived at by the following criteria:
Four FIBA Asia Sub-Zones – East, South East, Gulf and West – each have two berths allotted.
Two FIBA Asia Sub-Zones – South and Central – each have one berth allotted.
Teams that finished in the top 5 rankings at the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 held in Jordan earn additional slots for their respective FIBA Asia Sub-Zones. (Not by team names, but additional berths for the Sub-Zones).
