Brasilia and Recife confirmed as hosts of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022
MIAMI (United States) - The FIBA regional office in the Americas and the Brazilian Basketball Confederation confirmed today that the two host cities for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 will be Brasilia and Recife.
MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA regional office in the Americas and the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) confirmed today that the two host cities for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 will be Brasilia (DF) and Recife (PE). The event is scheduled to take place from 2-11 of September, 2022.
As the capital of Brazil, Brasilia stands out as an important business and tourism hub. Recife is one of Brazil's most exotic and charming cities in the country, best known for its beaches and historic sites. Ginásio Nilson Nelson will be the hosting arena in Brasilia, and in Recife, the games will be played at Ginásio de Esportes Geraldo Magalhães.
The group stages will be played in both cities, while the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final will take place in Recife. The draw for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 will take place in March.
The 19th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup will host the following twelve (12) countries: Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, and the host nation Brazil.

The tournament returns to Brazil for the first time since 1984, when it was held in Sao Paulo.
The FIBA AmeriCup is the prime competition for Senior Men's Basketball in the Americas.
