Dominicans hand defending champs Mexico first Centrobasket loss since 2012 edition

PANAMA (Centrobasket) – Dominican Republic won against Mexico, 89 – 62, and maintained its undefeated status after 3 games at Group B.

• Turning Point: After dominating the third quarter 20 – 12, the Dominicans kept producing and after 5 minutes of the fourth quarter the team coached by Melvyn Lopez had a 15-point lead, 67 – 52. Mexico discounted a few points from the difference, but the Dominicans Republic kept the win.

• Stats don’t lie: The Dominicans dominated the boards 40 – 28.

• Game Hero: Dominicans Eloy Vargas and Angel Delgado were the players of the match, combining for 37 points and 14 points.
