    BCL Americas announces Season 4 teams

    MIAMI (United States) – The Basketball Champions League Americas will host 12 teams from seven countries across the region in its upcoming fourth season.

    MIAMI (United States) – The Basketball Champions League Americas will host 12 teams from seven countries across the region in its upcoming fourth season. The 12 teams that will battle in the continent’s most elite men’s basketball league are:

    Instituto (ARG), Quimsa (ARG), Obras (ARG), Franca (BRA), Flamengo (BRA), Minas (BRA), Universidad de Concepción (CHI), Biguá (URU), and Real Esteli (NCA) return to BCL Americas for season 4. The three new teams are Libertadores de Querétaro (MEX), Hamilton Honey Badgers (CAN), and Peñarol (URU).

    The teams will be divided into four groups of three and will play the group stage in December, January, and February for a total of 36 games. Each team will have a chance to host their group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarterfinals, which will be played in March. Then, the teams will be ranked based on record and will participate in a best-of-three series. The winners will qualify for the Final 4, to be held in April.

    The official draw will determine the Group Phase and solidify the schedule for Season 4. You can watch the draw live on YouTube on October 14, 2022, 3 P.M. EST.

    The BCL Americas champion will secure their place in the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. São Paulo from Brazil is the current champion of the tournament and will play the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
