Hosts announced for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Pre-Qualifiers Second Round

MUNICH (Germany) - The venues for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Pre-Qualifiers Second Round have been confirmed ahead of the August 2021 window.

Following the success of the First Round windows held in bubbles, the upcoming stage of the competition will again be organized as protected environment tournaments in order to ensure health and safety of all participants.

12  teams were split into four groups in April's draw in Berlin with each group now allocated a bubble host.

The Executive Committee of FIBA Europe approved the following hosts and cities:

The dates were also approved as the Second Round action will run from August 7-18, 2021 with a double round-robin format as teams play each other twice.

For Groups C, E and F, the action will commence on August 12, 2021 before reaching their conclusion on August 18, 2021. Meanwhile, there was a request to change the dates of Group D due to arena availability in Riga, Latvia, which will start on August 7, 2021.

Eight spots are available for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers with the top two teams in each of the four groups advancing to the next stage.
