Gameday 1 Top Performers: McFadden, Olisevicius, Teodosic, Okereafor, Parakhouski

MUNICH (Germany) - Thaddus McFadden and Osvaldas Olisevicius both recorded efficiency valuations of 29 to highlight the individual performances from Gameday 1 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers.

McFadden started hot for Georgia with five of seven three-pointers in the first quarter on the way to a 27-point haul along with 9 assists in an 88-83 victory at home to Ukraine in Tbilisi, while Olisevicius helped Lithuania ease past Bulgaria with 20 points and 9 rebounds in their 89-69 success.

Milos Teodosic produced another inspired performance for Serbia after narrowly missing out on a double-double with 21 points and 9 assists as they claimed a dramatic 101-100 triumph against Latvia, in Belgrade.

The 34-year-old point guard went 7-of-10 from the field and also had Serbia's only block to help ensure they made a winning start to their campaign.

Meanwhile, Teddy Okereafor celebrated a record-breaking 50th consecutive cap for Great Britain by leading them to a 78-69 success over Greece after contributing 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the comeback victory.

Artsiom Parakhouski produced an all-round display to help Belarus defeat Turkey 84-70 in the opening game with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in Minsk to the delight of the home crowd.
