Americas Qualifiers: Window 3 Gameday 1 Top Performers

MIAMI (United States) - There were several impressive performances in the first two days of Window 3 games at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers, but five players really stood out.

Several NBA players are playing in the Americas Qualifiers in this window and one of them, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was the star for Canada in their 95-75 home win over Dominican Republic, keeping the Canadians undefeated at 5-0.

In his first game at the Canada Senior National Team level, Gilgeous-Alexander stuffed the stat sheet with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, shot 5-of-11 from three-point range and finished with an efficiency rating of 32.

The third player on the list (and the second NBA player) is Buddy Hield who returned to the Bahamas National Team for the first time since the last cycle of FIBA World Cup Qualifiers a few years ago.

Hield led Bahamas to a comfortable 97-80 victory over the Virgin Islands and finished with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point with an efficiency rating of 26.

Another player who made their Senior National Team debut was USA's Justin Jackson, who finished with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists on 5-of-10 shooting from three-point with an efficiency rating of 25 in the team's 83-75 win over Puerto Rico.

Rounding out the top performers list is the third NBA player, Facundo Campazzo, who went for 29 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists on 5-of-9 shooting from three-point in Argentina's 68-66 come-from-behind win over Venezuela.

Campazzo also shot an impressive 12-of-13 from the free-throw line and had an efficiency rating of 25.
