Can Morocco become first team to beat Tunisia at World Cup Qualifiers?

LUANDA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - A year has passed since the start of the World Cup Qualifiers, and Morocco will try and become the first team to stop Tunisia's unbeaten run.

LUANDA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - A year has passed since the start of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers, and Morocco on Friday will have a second chance to try and become the first team to stop Tunisia's unbeaten run.

The two North African countries will resume their Group E World Cup Qualifiers campaigns in Luanda, Angola from November 30 - December 2.

So far things look favourably for the African champions Tunisian who defeated all their five opponents in the World Cup Qualifiers to register an impressive 9-0 run with three games to spare.

While Tunisia, one of the first African countries - along with Nigeria - to qualify for next year's FIBA's flagship tournament in China headed to Luanda to protect their continental prestige, Morocco hope to resurface from the ashes.

However, numbers and statistics speak for themselves.

Even though Moroccans have always caused Tunisia some trouble,  the latter enjoy a 4-0 record in their last four meetings (including African Championship Qualifiers) dating back to the FIBA AfroBasket 2015.

And the last time these two countries faced off on Tunisian soil two months ago, the hosts were ruthless in beating Morocco 65-50.

Players to watch in this North Africa classic affair include Morocco' Ali Lahrichi - a rising star point guard in African basketball scene- and big man Soufiane Kourodu, and Tunisia's duo of Makram Ben Romdhane and Omar Abada.
