ULAANBATAAR (Mongolia) - Twelve teams have booked their passes to the Second Round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers in February next year.
Unbeaten teams Qatar and Palestine banner Group E, while Group F will feature a pack spearheaded by 2 other spotless sides in Thailand and Guam.
Qatar and Palestine, top seeds of Groups A and B, respectively, will put their immaculate records at stake as they lock horns not just with one another but versus other hungry squads, namely UAE, Oman, Iraq, and Kuwait.
Oman and Kuwait are surely coming in motivated to break through after being foiled twice during the first part of the First Round last June.
Meanwhile, Thailand will lead Group F as the team with most wins with 4 after sweeping their group in the final phase of the First Round.
Advancing from Group D as well is another Southeast Asian crew in Malaysia, who completed the 12-team cast by showing Vietnam the door in the First Round's penultimate game on Monday at the UG Arena.
The neighboring nations will be joined by newcomer Mongolia, who introduced themselves in the FIBA stage with a hat trick of wins before dropping a tight encounter against the Thais on Monday night as well.
Together with the 3 teams are Guam, who topped Group C play over at Bengaluru, India with victories over Singapore and Hong Kong. Both Singapore and Hong Kong, though, are still through to the next round.
The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
