FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers schedule confirmed

BEIRUT (Lebanon) – The first-ever FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers for the 2021 edition of the competition has been awaited with much anticipation. The schedule for the three windows of the Asia Cup Qualifiers have now been finalized and announced.

The games in the first window (February 17-25) will be played early in 2020 from February 20-24, highlighted by an intense duel between the Asia Cup 2017 champions, Australia, and semi-finalists, New Zealand, on February 20 . A highly anticipated game when China visits Japan will be played on the following game day, February 21. Another game fans will not want to miss is the clash between Qatar and Iran on February 23.

In the following window (November 23 - December 1), games will then be played later in the year from November 26-30. The spotlight will on the long-time rivalry match-up in Korea when the hosts go up against the Philippines on November 27.

Games in the final window (15-23 February) of the Asia Cup Qualifiers will be from February 18-22 in 2021, finalizing the results to determine which teams will move on to the final stage. A key match-up in this window will be between Indonesia and Thailand on February 21. The last game day on February 22 of the Asia Cup Qualifiers will also be featuring a fiery faceoff between Palestine and Jordan.

With the conclusion of the Qualifiers, the top two teams from each Group will directly qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021, while the six 3rd-placed teams will advance to play a qualifying tournament for the remaining four FIBA Asia Cup 2021 tickets.
