    Guam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia seal final four spots for FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers

    NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Eastern Region Pre-Qualifiers) – Guam finishes with a perfect record to advance to FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers along with Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

    NONTHABURI (FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Eastern Region Pre-Qualifiers) – Guam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia  finish with the best four records at the Eastern Region Pre-Qualifiers in Thailand to advance to the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers. Singapore, Macau, and Fiji were eliminated.

    FIBA Asia newcomers Guam swept through the competition with a perfect record of six straight wins. They wrapped up their undefeated run with a 101-78 win against Malaysia in the first game of the final day.

    Despite their loss, Malaysia had already confirmed their spot in the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers previously. Malaysia's run in this tournament includes impressive wins over Indonesia and a comeback rally against Singapore.

    Thailand took another hard loss to Indonesia in the subsequent game, 71-65, but both teams had also already confirmed their tickets to the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers as well in the previous day.

    Singapore were able to squander a tight 96-93 win against Macau in the final game of the competition, but both teams ended up not qualifying for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 along with Fiji who were previously eliminated in the first round.
