BENGALURU (FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship 2018) – In less than 48 hours, the 24th edition of Asia's flagship U18 women's basketball championship will tip off in the Garden City of Bengaluru.
192 of Asia and Oceania's finest junior women cagers, across 16 teams, are set to take centre stage in this blockbuster continental championship.
For those of you who are just joining us, here's what you need to know about the FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship 2018:
What is it: The FIBA U18 Women's Asian Championship 2018 is the premier continental championship for the junior women's category, featuring the finest teams of Asia and Oceania.
Competition System:
- 16 teams split into Division A and B.
- Group Phase round followed by classification, qualification, semifinal and final knockout rounds.

When: 28 to 30 October (Group Phase); 31 October (Rest Day); 1 to 3 November (Qualifying & Final Phase).

What's at stake:
- Four (4) 2019 FIBA U18 Women's World Cup spots up for grabs.
- Winning team gets crowned best across the combined 44 member countries of Asia and 22 Oceania members.
- Promotion/Relegation: The top Division B team gets promoted to Division A, while the bottom placed team from Division A gets relegated.
Where: Division A + India games at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Division B games at Koramangala Indoor Stadium.
How to watch:
a. All Division A games + India games will be live streamed on FIBA’s social media channels.
b. Free entry announced for the group phase.

What's new this time:
For the first time in the history of FIBA Asia youth competition, just like in the senior championships, an All-Star Five and Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards will be presented.
