BENGALURU (FIBA U16 Women's Asia Championship 2017) - China rebounded from a lackluster Semi-Final to subdue New Zealand, 60-43, and salvage third place at the FIBA U16 Women's Asia Championship 2017.

After struggling mightily against Australia, Liu Yutong bounced back strong here, dropping 17 points and hauling down 15 rebounds for the Chinese. Zheng Ming gave her able support with 20 points.

Charlisse Leger-Walker, New Zealand's star player, was ice cold at the worst possible time, shooting only 2-of-20 from the field to finish with just 9 points.

Things were close in the early going, with New Zealand trailing by only 5 points at the end of the first quarter, but the Chinese ramped things up in the second period to lead by 17 at the half and never looked back.
