MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Regional Office in the Americas and the Nicaraguan Basketball Federation confirmed that Managua, Nicaragua, will host the 20th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup. The FIBA AmeriCup 2025 will be held at the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello from August 23 – 31 2025.

The FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers will be played in February 2024, November 2024, and February 2025. As host, Nicaragua will automatically qualify for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025, and the remaining best two teams from Group C (Canada, Dominican Republic, and Mexico) will take the remaining two spots for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025.

The best three teams from Group A (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Venezuela), Group B (Brazil, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay), and Group D (Bahamas, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and USA) will also qualify to the FIBA AmeriCup 2025. In total, there will be twelve teams qualified to the event.

"The FIBA AmeriCup is the most prestigious basketball competition for senior men's national teams in the Americas. I’m very grateful to the National Federation and the Government in Nicaragua for enabling this event to be celebrated in Managua. We have played finals of Basketball Champions League Americas in Managua few years back and we can testify that Managua is an excellent site for us to make the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 an epic event," said FIBA Americas President Fabián Borro.

Argentina defeated host Brazil in the previous edition held in 2022. In 2025, will be the first time in tournament history that it will be held in Managua, Nicaragua.
