As the capital of Brazil, Brasilia stands out as an important business and tourism hub. The group stages will be played in both cities, while the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final will take place in Recife. The draw for the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 will take place in March.

The 19th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup will host the following twelve (12) countries: Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, and the host nation Brazil.

"We are very honored and excited to bring the AmeriCup back to Brazil after more than three decades. I want to express, also, our appreciation to the CBB and to President Mr. Guy Peixoto for his support and leadership in securing the host for such an epic competition. Both, Brasilia and Recife are amazing cities with a lot to offer on the competition and cultural aspects. CBB and FIBA are very excited to bring this level of competition to these cities, their fans, and communities to celebrate our magical game," said the Executive Director of FIBA in the Americas, Carlos Alves.

The tournament returns to Brazil for the first time since 1984, when it was held in Sao Paulo.
