USA took home the FIBA U18 Americas Women’s Championship 2018 title following a ... win over Canada. With an impressive Christina Morra, who added 8 points in the opening quarter, the Canadians took a 4-point lead, 18-14. With 9 points from Nalyssa Smith, USA won the second quarter 25-13 and went on to Half-time with an 8-point lead, 38-31. USA dominated the third quarter and took distance on the scoreboard. Canada discounted from the difference, but the USA found a way to respond. USA celebrated the win and the continental championship.
Rhyne Howard was named the FIBA U18 Americas Women’s Championship Most Valuable Player.
Mayra Caicedo (COL), Maori Davenport (USA), Florencia Chagas (ARG), Rhyne Howard (USA) and Christina Morra (CAN) were selected to the All-Star Team of the FIBA U18 Americas Women’s Championship 2018.

Argentina had a better start and took a 7-point lead at the end of the first 10 minutes of the game. Argentina kept adding to the difference and never looked back. Colombia discounted from the distance, but the Argentines always reacted. Camila Suarez led the scoring with 15 points.
Meanwhile in the Reclassification Round, Puerto Rico took 5th place after defeating Chile, 61-54, and in the game for 7th place, Mexico defeated el Salvador, 83-61.
