Visa information

An entry visa is requested for people traveling to Cameroon.

The visa must be affixed to a valid passport. Are exempt from visa requirements:

  • Cameroonian citizen
  • Citizen of the following countries:

Central Africa Republic ( 3 Months ) , Chad ( 3 months) , Republic of  Congo ( 3 Months ) , Mali ( 3 Months ) , Mauritania ( 3 Months ) , Nigeria ( 3 months) , Seychelles ( 1 Month ) , Dominican Republic (6 months ) , Ecuador ( 3 Months ) , Granada ( 3 Months ), Haiti ( 3months ), Monsteratt ( 3 Months ) ,St .Kisito and Nevis (14 Days) , St. Vincent and Grenadines (1 Month ) , Philippine (21 days) , Singapore ( 1 Month ) Moldova ( 1 month ) , Kosovo ( 3 Months ) Cooks Island ( 1 month ) , Micronesia ( 1Month ), Nauru ( 1Month ) Niue ( 1 month ), Palau ( 1Month ) Samoa ( 2 Months ), Tivalu (1 Month ) Vanuatu (1 month )

Entry visas in Cameroon are classified into four categories:

1- THE TRANSIT VISA

The transit visa may be granted abroad in transit; its validity may not exceed five days with multiple entries and leaving. It is delivered by showing of the following documents:

* A passport or other travel document, valid for at least six months

* A valid airline ticket to final destination or other proof of travel continuation

* A visa or entry authorization for the country of final destination if necessary

* International vaccination certificates required

2- THE VISA OF TOURISM

The visa of tourism, valid for one or many entries and exits, may be granted temporary to visitor who moves for touristic reason either individually or as part of a tour or package. Its validity may not exceed thirty days. The individual or collective visa for tourism is delivered by producing the following documents:

* A valid passport for at least six months

* A flight ticket or any valid travel ticket to Cameroon

* International certificates of vaccination

* A return guarantee

3- THE TEMPORARY VISA:

The temporary visa is valid for one or many entries and exits. This visa can be delivered to the foreigner whose stay in Cameroon does not exceed three months. Its issuance is subject to the production of the following documents:

* A valid passport for at least six months

* A flight ticket or other transportation proof, a customs carnet if necessary

* Required International vaccination certificates

* The support of the purpose of the visit and the conditions and adequate means for the stay

* An accommodation certificate issued by the person who undertakes to host the visitor or an invitation to an event organized on the national territory or a firm hotel reservation for the expected stay duration

* A mission order for official missions

4- LONG STAY VISA:

The long stay visa is valid for one or many entries and exits. This visa may be delivered to foreigner whose expected duration of stay in Cameroon exceeds three months. However, its validity cannot exceed six months. It is granted by showing according to the case the following documents:

* A valid passport for at least six months

* A flight ticket or any other valid traveling ticket to Cameroon

* International certificates of vaccination

* The repatriation guarantee

* An employment contract duly signed by the Minister in charge of the work for Foreigners willing to have a salaried activity in Cameroon.

* A license to practice a liberal profession or to promote an agricultural, breeding, industrial, commercial or handicrafts activities issued by the competent authorities when such authorization is required.

* An act justifying the marriage link for the spouse or parent of minor children

* A certificate of registration or renewal of registration issued by the head of the institution for students

* A internship proof for trainees

NB: All these types of visas are delivered by the Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office within a maximum period of 48 hours from the date of application. The Foreigners coming from countries where Cameroon is not represented by a diplomatic or consular post can exceptionally obtain a visa with the border or immigration office of their place of landing.
