Road to BAL's Group C rescheduled
ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - FIBA Africa on Sunday confirmed a new schedule for Group C of the qualifier for the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Initially scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda, from October 25-30, the qualifier for BAL Season 3 has been moved to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
It will instead take place from October 28-30 at Benjamin Mpaka National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Following the withdrawal of Ethiopia's Hawassa City, four teams will do battle in Group C looking to secure the two tickets on offer for the Elite 16 Round.
Participating teams are as follows: Army Basketball Club (Tanzania), Urunani BBC (Burundi), City Oilers (Uganda) and Matero Magic (Zambia).
Daily schedule is as follows:
Friday, October 28: City Oilers v Matero Magic; Army Basket Club v Urunani.
Saturday, October 29: Urunani v City Oilers; Army Basket Club v Matero Magic.
Sunday, October 30: Matero Magic v Urunani; City Oilers v Army Basket Club.
TEAMS QUALIFIED FOR THE ELITE 16 ROUND SO FAR
Group E (Abidjan, (COTE D'IVOIRE) in November: AS Sale (Morocco), FAP (Cameroon), SLAC (Guinea - *TBD), Bangui Sporting Club (Central African Republic), Nueva Era (Equatorial Guinea), Abidjan Basket Club (Cote d'Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali).
Group F (SOUTH AFRICA) November 22-27): Ferroviario da Beira (Mozambique), Cape Town Tigers (South Africa), Cobra Sports (TBD), COSPN (Madagascar), Kenya Ports Authority (Kenya). The teams that finish in the top two places of Groups C will be added to Group F.
