First FIBA Africa Basketball League 2019 ELITE 8 pairing set
ANTANANARIVO (Madagascar), CAIRO (Egypt) - Twelve games into the FIBA Africa Basketball League (ABL) 2019, and four clubs made it to the ELITE 8 knock out stage of the competition.
Following this past weekend ABL Group D's action in Antananarivo, Smouha Sporting Club and Petro Atletico de Luanda joined Al Ahly and Primeiro D'Agosto in the last eight.
While Egypt's Smouha topped their group with three wins in as many games, Petro Atletico de Luanda from Angola came in second with a 2-1 mark.

Earlier this month in the ABL opening, eight-time African champions Primeiro D'Agosto of Angola closed their Group C undefeated in three games, while hosts Egypt champions Al Ahly finished in second place.

With the results, the first Quarter-Finalists are found with Smouha taking on Al Ahly and D'Agosto facing local and continental rivals Petro Atletico de Luanda next month.
The other four ELITE 8 will be determined next month when Groups A and B take to the court in the Moroccan city of Sale, and Porto Novo in Benin.
Teams will play home and away games in the ELITE 8, and the winners of the two-game series will advance to the Final-Four to be staged in May at a place yet to be determined.
