    MVP Rokiatou Berthe highlights All-Star team at FIBA U16 Women's Championship 2021

    Rokiatou Berthe is the name on the lips of fans that thronged the Cairo Arena for the Final of the FIBA U16 Women's African Championship between Egypt and Mali as she emerged as the tournament MVP.

    CAIRO (Egypt) - Rokiatou Berthe is the name on the lips of fans that thronged the Cairo Arena for the Final of the FIBA U16 Women's African Championship between Egypt and Mali as she emerged as the tournament Most Valuable Player.

    Her name renting the airwaves and amplified by the pocket of Malian fans was in celebration of the player's outstanding performance.

    The chants of Berthe were neither for the fun of it but because she swept three individual awards in the tournament. 

    Berthe was the thorn in the flesh of Egypt in the Final played on Sunday. She was in calm command of the game and led Mali to a seventh title on the night with a score of 28 points.

    In addition to being named MVP, she also carted away trophies for best three-pointer and for the best scorer.

    Joining Berthe in the All-Tournament team were Coulibaly Alimata (Mali), who had a total of 70 rebounds for the Best Rebounder award; Best Forward Jana Elalfy (Egypt); the best Guards went to  Egypt duo of Metwaly Sarah Hana Abdelal.
