The FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup is a brand new annual competition, launched in 2018. It is the leading 3x3 event for national teams in the U23 category.
The first edition takes place in Xi'an, China on October 3-7, 2018.
The very best from around the world do battle in five different events: the men's 3x3 tournament, the women's 3x3 tournament, the Shoot-Out Contest (mixed), the Skills Contest (women) and last but not least the Dunk Contest (men).
Contrary to the "open" network of tournaments (which includes the FIBA 3x3 World Tour), players taking part in the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup do not create the team themselves but instead are selected by their national federations to represent their countries.
In order to be eligible, players who compete in the 3x3 U23 World Cup must be registered on play.fiba3x3.com and have the nationality of the country they represent.
Any player born on January 1, 1995 or after this date can participate in the 2018 edition. This said, all players must turn at least 16 years old in 2018 and a minimum of 2 players have to turn 19 or older in the same year.
This is the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup. For more information about 3x3 basketball, including events, rules and much more, visit fiba3x3.com
