About the U23 Nations League

The FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League is a brand new FIBA 3x3 national team competition for men and women under the age of 23, which is part of the development program known as the FIBA 3x3 Fast Track program.

National federations participating in the program must enrol 1 team per gender to each stop of the FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League.

The League is an ongoing opportunity for the future talents to hone their skills in preparation for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, multi-sport games and future Olympic Games. It fits with FIBA’s intention of playing the various multi-sport games with an U23 rule as the logical sequel of the Youth Olympic Games (“YOG”): “From the YOG to the Olympic Games via the multi-sport games”.

The 5 founding members of the Fast Track program in 2017 are Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Uganda.

This season, the league will be comprised of 5 one-day events, featuring 6 teams in the men’s and 6 teams in the women’s categories (the 5 founding members of the Fast Track program and 1 additional team per gender).
