Competition Format

Men

- 7 tickets to the Africa Cup available.
- Teams are divided in one pool of 6 teams and another one of 5 teams.
- Top 3 teams in each pool qualify for the Africa Cup.
- The two teams that finish 4th in the pools will play a final game for the last qualification slot.

Women

- 8 tickets to the Africa Cup on the line.
- Teams are divided in 2 pool of 5 teams each.
- Top 4 teams of the pool phase qualify to the Africa Cup 2018.

In all Qualifiers, teams will not continue playing games after they have qualified or have been eliminated from contention.
